Job Title: Registered Nurse
Job Specialty: Oncology
Job Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: 8-hour Day Shift
Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
Experience: At least 1 year of Oncology RN experience required; 2+ years preferred
License: Registered Nurse (RN) with Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
Certifications: Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) preferred, Chemotherapy/Biotherapy certification preferred
Must-Have: EPIC experience highly preferred, strong general assessment/triage skills
Job Description:
- Provide nursing care in an outpatient oncology clinic with a focus on general oncology, handling patients with solid tumors and anemias.
- Work in a facility with 20 exam rooms, 10 physicians, and 4 Advanced Practice Providers.
- Manage an average daily census of 12-16 patients, depending on provider schedules.
- Access ports and perform peripheral blood draws.
- Utilize EPIC for electronic medical records management and internal messaging.
- Collaborate with a daily Charge RN and Clinical Supervisor for departmental support.
- Undergo hospital and departmental orientation, including shadowing experiences, ranging from 1-3 weeks based on prior experience.
- Understand and adhere to clinic protocols and maintain high standards of patient care.
- Wear navy blue scrubs as part of the professional attire.
The successful candidate should be adaptable, capable of working in a fast-paced environment, and possess excellent communication skills to coordinate with healthcare professionals and patients.
