Job Description
Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Specialty: OR Surgicenter

Job Duration: 13 weeks

Shift: Day | Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM

Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week

Experience: Minimum three (3) years of relevant nursing experience

License: Illinois state RN License in good standing

Certifications: BLS (American Heart Association)

Must-Have: Procedural Operating Room RN experience

Job Description:

- The staff Registered Nurse (RN) assumes responsibility for a group of patients for a designated time frame and provides care via the utilization of the nursing process, nursing trends, and available resources within the philosophy of the institution.
- Perform all responsibilities and duties required as specific to the scope of service.
- Implement procedures and theories related to the specific area of practice.
- Maintain up-to-date and accurate documentation of nursing care provided, ensuring integration of information for use by the healthcare team.
- Complete an initial assessment upon patient admission and develop an appropriate plan of care in accordance with unit standards based on patient and family needs.
- Implement the plan of care, nursing interventions, and patient care procedures.
- Modify the plan of care based on continuous evaluation.
- Take responsibility for patient and employee safety by reporting and/or correcting safety hazards and incidents.
- Communicate with others directly and in private, when necessary, to resolve issues.
- Offer constructive feedback to assist in the professional development of peers and confer with colleagues to expand knowledge base.
- Identify own learning needs and take initiative to pursue appropriate solutions.
- Fulfill all requirements of departmental competencies.
- Complete patient assessment reflecting patient condition and document data in EPIC system.
- Recognize normal and abnormal findings and notify the physician appropriately.
- Establish a plan of care for the patient and set goals.
- Establish IV on patients over 8 years old and practice five rights for medication administration for all patients.
- Participate in the timeout process with OR RN.
