FTE: Full Time, 1.0, 80.00 hours per pay period (2 weeks)

Shift: Days

Pay: $41.43 - $62.15 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience

Summary:

• Acts as an expert clinician, consultant, educator, and researcher. Works to improve nursing practice and patient care.

Responsibilities:

• Identifies needs of the patient and family and interprets needs with staff. Promotes optimal patient outcomes.
• Develops individual patient strategies. Evaluates effectiveness of care and recommends change to improve outcomes. Helps develop evidence-based protocols and procedures.
• Prepares reports on patient and program outcomes. Advises other departments, committees and the community on pain management. With nurse educators, assesses educational needs and coordinates programs for caregivers. Mentors students.
• Provides consultation to health care providers and patients. Facilitates problem-solving in patient care delivery. Evaluates practices for safety, patient satisfaction, cost benefit, or barriers to care.
• Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.

Requirements:

• Master's Degree in Nursing.
• State licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• State licensure as an Advanced Practice Nurse (APN), Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS), Nurse Practitioner (NP) and/or other designation as required by law.
• 3 years' experience in clinical specialty in an acute care setting; experience in pain management.
• BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date. BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire.
