Job Specialty: Emergency Medical Care
Job Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights, 5x8 Hr
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
Experience: Minimum of one year of experience
License: Current RN License issued by an accredited state board or a current multistate compact RN License (eNLC)
Certifications:
- Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association
- ACLS (American Heart Association)
- PALS (American Heart Association)
Must-Have:
- Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program
- Knowledge of professional nursing theories, practices, techniques, and procedures
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to maintain good working relationships with other employees
- Ability to respond effectively to cultural and language needs of patients and visitors
- Some computer skills
Job Description:
- Provide nursing care in a hospital setting to patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex.
- Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients.
- Document patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments; note all changes in physician orders.
- Assist physicians in the examination of patients and perform minor diagnostic procedures and treatment.
- Obtain and monitor physiological data of patients, observe physiological manifestations, and intervene when necessary.
- Administer medication as prescribed and initiate, regulate, and monitor intravenous infusions and blood products.
- Deliver patient care competently.
- Interact with family and patients while sharing the care plan during the hospital stay and at discharge.
- Inform patients and family of hospital procedures.
- Make referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel.
- Delegate tasks to support staff.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
