Job Title: Registered Nurse - ICU
Job Specialty: ICU RN
Job Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Days, 5x8 Hr
Guaranteed Hours: 36.00 hours per week
Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience
License: Current RN License issued by the State Board of Nursing, or a current multistate compact RN License (eNLC)
Certifications: Basic Life Support (American Heart Association), ACLS (American Heart Association)
Must-Have: Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program
Job Description:
- Provide nursing care in a hospital setting to patients with a range of health problems, from simple to complex.
- Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients and document patient responses to interventions and treatments.
- Assist physicians during patient examinations and perform minor diagnostic procedures and treatments.
- Obtain and monitor physiological data of patients and intervene as necessary.
- Administer prescribed medication and manage intravenous infusions and blood products.
- Deliver competent patient care and interact with family and patients to share care plans during the hospital stay and at discharge.
- Inform patients and families of hospital procedures and make referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel.
- Delegate tasks to support staff as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills:
- Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures.
- Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services and apply nursing techniques.
- Maintain good working relationships with colleagues and possess good verbal and written communication skills.
- Respond effectively to the diverse cultural and language needs of patients and visitors.
- Basic computer skills are required.
