Job Title: RN Outpatient Surgery
Job Specialty: FS - Adult Outpatient Surgery
Job Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Day shift, 5:30 AM to 4:00 PM, 4 days a week with a rotating day off. Some on-call shifts required, including afternoon coverage from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM and weekend coverage from 7:00 AM to 7:00 AM. On average, 1-2 evenings and 1 weekend day per month for on-call hours.
Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience
License: Current RN License issued by a state board of nursing or a current multistate compact RN License (eNLC)
Certifications:
- Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - American Heart Association
Must-Have:
- Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program
- Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures
- Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services and apply nursing techniques
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Some computer skills
Job Description:
- Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients.
- Document patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments; note all changes in physician order on assigned patients.
- Assist physicians in the examination of patients and in performing minor diagnostic procedures and treatments.
- Obtain and monitor physiological data of patients, observe the physiological manifestations of patients, and intervene when necessary.
- Administer medication as prescribed; initiate, regulate, and monitor intravenous infusions and blood products.
- Deliver patient care competently.
- Interact with family and patients in sharing care plans while in the hospital and at the time of discharge.
- Inform patients and families of hospital procedures.
- Make referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel.
- Delegate tasks to support staff.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
