Job Description
Job Title: Registered Nurse - Procedural
Job Specialty: Endoscopy
Job Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Days (5x8 Hr)
Guaranteed Hours: 40 per week
Experience: Minimum of 1 year required
License: Current RN License issued by the State Board of Nursing, or a current multistate compact RN License (eNLC)
Certifications: Current Basic Life Support and ACLS issued by the American Heart Association
Must-Have: Experience with Epic or Cerner
Job Description:
- Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients.
- Document patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments; note all changes in physician orders on assigned patients.
- Assist physicians in the examination of patients and in performing minor diagnostic procedures and treatments.
- Obtain and monitor physiological data of patients, observe physiological manifestations, and intervene when necessary.
- Administer medication as prescribed.
- Initiate, regulate, and monitor intravenous infusions and blood products.
- Deliver patient care competently.
- Interact with family and patients to share care plans during hospital stay and upon discharge.
- Oversee treatment provided by technicians or other service providers.
- Inform patients and families of hospital procedures.
- Make referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel.
- Delegate tasks to support staff.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills:
- Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures.
- Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services and apply nursing techniques.
- Ability to maintain good working relationships with other employees.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team providing excellent specialized care.
- Some computer skills.
Education:
- Required: Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
- Preferred: Bachelor of Science (or higher) in Nursing from a board-approved program.
