Job Title: Registered Nurse - Procedural
Profession: RN
Specialty: Endoscopy
Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Days
Hours per Shift: 8 Hours
Experience: 1 Year of Experience
License: Current RN License from State Board of Nursing or Multistate Compact RN License
Certifications: Basic Life Support (American Heart Association), ACLS (American Heart Association)
Must-Have: Experience with Epic or Cerner
Description:
Under general supervision, provides nursing care in a specialty area.
Assumes responsibility for an assigned group of patients.
Documents patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments.
Notes all changes in physician orders on assigned patients.
Assists physicians in the examination of patients and in performing minor diagnostic procedures and treatment.
Obtains and monitors physiological data of patients, observing physiological manifestations and intervening when necessary.
Administers medication as prescribed.
Initiates, regulates, and monitors intravenous infusions and blood products.
Delivers patient care competently.
Interacts with patients and their families in sharing care plans during the hospital stay and at discharge.
Oversees treatment provided by technicians or other service providers.
Informs patients and families of hospital procedures.
Makes referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel.
Delegates tasks to support staff.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures is required.
Must have the ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services and apply nursing techniques.
Must have good verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team providing specialized care is essential.
Some computer skills are required.
An Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program is required.
A Bachelor of Science (or higher) in Nursing from a Board Approved Program is preferred.
