Job Title: Medical Oncology Infusion Registered Nurse
Profession: Registered Nurse (RN)

Shift: Days
Hours per Shift: 8 hours (8 AM - 5 PM), Monday to Friday, occasional Saturdays
Experience: Minimum 2 years
License: Required
Certifications: BLS, ONS/ONCC required, OCN preferred
Must-Have: Oncology nursing experience with port access and central line lab drawing skills
Description:
The unit consists of 12 chairs and 4 rooms, with an average of 45 patients per day.
Nurse-to-patient ratios range from 6-9:1.
This role requires experience in oncology nursing, either on the floor or in an infusion center.
The nurse must be able to access ports for treatment and draw labs from central lines.
The role involves administering chemotherapy and other infusions specific to oncology care.
Common infusions include FOLFOX, Taxol, Carboplatin, Herceptin, Perjeta, RCHOP, and immunotherapies like Keytruda, Opdivo, and Imfinzi.
Duties include monitoring and assessing patients before, during, and after infusions.
A charge nurse is present on each shift and also takes patients.
There is also a nurse navigator.
Medical assistants are available to take patient vitals.
The Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system used is EPIC.
Weekend work is occasionally required on Saturdays.
There is no holiday requirement.
There are no on-call or standby requirements.
No floating to other units is required.
The required scrub color is navy blue.
Orientation includes one NEO, one clinical education/EPIC-Beacon session, and one day on the floor.
This position does not require a BSN.
