RN/Clinical Analyst (FT)

POSITION SUMMARY:
  • The Clinical Systems Analyst assesses, plans, implements and evaluates information system support needs for patient care operations according to own clinical judgment, policies, procedures, protocol and standards.
  • As an internal consultant, the Clinical Systems Analyst is responsible for:
  • System assessment, process analysis, identification of system requirements, and functional definition of planned system changes.
  • Identifying and implementing information system solutions that support more efficient and effective work performance based on inherent knowledge of clinical functions and processes.
  • Develops and manages project plans for the deployment of new and/or changes to information system applications
  • Administers system applications and serves as an educator and resource regarding system functionality.
  • Functioning within scope of individual education, licensure and competence.
  • Responsible for the execution of projects and enhancements within clinical environment to support the business needs of the departments.
  • Provide application support and maintenance for the Clinical applications.
  • Provide application support in response to user problems and questions regarding functionality, operations, input/output, reporting and general operating procedures.
  • Perform modifications and/or enhancements to systems including changes to profiles, master files, reports, screens, systems design, conversion requirements and documentation requirements.
  • Provide/recommend innovative ideas, processes and/or procedures for enhancements, additions, modifications to improve the existing systems.
  • Provide ad hoc clinical system queries and report generation.
  • Responsible for ensuring assigned applications are functional and that system updates are scheduled and completed.
  • Design, create and debug SQL queries and reports.
  • Responsible for user access control and maintenance of assigned applications.
  • May lead or guide the work of other staff engaged in similar functions.
  • Maintain system documentation and provide system in-services to IT staff.
  • Responsible for project plan and implementation of new clinical/business applications.
  • Attends and actively participate in weekly meetings.
  • Provide weekly written reports as required.
  • Resolve all assigned support calls promptly and accurately.
  • Assist in other IT Projects as needed.
  • Aids I.T. Director in the training of new staff.
  • Responsible for personal growth: attends meetings, seminars and reviews current literature as required.

  • Education
  • Nursing Degree (ASN, BSN, MSN)
  • Bachelor's degree in related field preferred.

  • Licensure
  • Registered Nurse in the State of Georgia.

  • Experience
  • Physician practice experience preferred.
  • Minimum of recent 5 years acute care experience.
  • At least one year of information management experience.
  • Prior experience with system analysis and implementation preferred.
  • Education program development and presentation experience required.
  • Experience with word processing, project management, and clinical applications required.

    Essential physical requirements
  • Sedentary: Exert up to 10 lb. of force occasionally and/or a minute amount frequently - greater than 75%, Rarely move up to 50lbs.

  • This is a stressful position requiring the ability to work odd hours at a moment's notice.

  • Experience with Athena Health, Altera Paragon and OneContent applications preferred.
