Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN)

Shift: 8-hour shifts, 11:00 AM - 7:30 PM, with two weekday calls (7:30 PM to 11:00 PM) and one weekend shift every six weeks

License: Must be currently licensed as a Registered Nurse or hold a current compact/multi-state license as a Registered Nurse in a recognized NCSBN Compact State
Certifications:
- Current American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Provider Card

- Proficiency in English (Speak, Read, Write)
Job Description:
- Perform patient assessments addressing physical, psychological, socio-cultural, spiritual needs, and functional abilities. Communicate assessments appropriately.
- Plan and prioritize care based on assessments, evaluate patient progress, and revise care to achieve expected outcomes. Involve patients and families in planning and evaluating care.
- Demonstrate clinical competencies in the specific area of practice as outlined in departmental performance standards.
- Assess patient and family learning needs, plan and provide education, and evaluate the effectiveness of teaching to achieve desired outcomes.
- Identify and respond appropriately to ethical issues in patient care, providing care in a non-judgmental manner. Serve as a resource for addressing ethical dilemmas.
- Initiate collaborative dialogue with physicians and coordinate multidisciplinary activities to plan, deliver, and evaluate patient care.
- Act as a patient advocate.
- Provide nursing care that respects diversity and acknowledges patient rights, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and patient safety initiatives to achieve optimal outcomes.
- Maintain effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, and the public.
- Analyze situations, apply critical thinking, and communicate clearly.
- React calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as required.
This position requires frequent standing, walking, bending, and moving patients, with intermittent lifting of up to 50 lbs. The role involves working under potentially stressful conditions, with possible exposure to blood and infectious materials. The work environment may be of moderate noise level, and there may be a requirement to take calls or work weekends/holidays based on departmental needs.
