What's your day like?
As a vital member of the Nursing Team at Cobble Hill LifeCare, the Registered Nurse (RN) plays an essential role in supervising residents and assisting them with all activities of daily living. In this position, you will serve as the nursing leader and educator on the unit, directing care from admission to discharge and guiding the clinical team in creating individualized, comprehensive care plans in collaboration with residents and their families. You will also respond proactively to prevent re-hospitalizations and manage potential emergencies by working closely with the entire clinical team. In addition, this role includes educating nursing staff on key clinical competencies, such as wound care, medication administration, and IV insertion. As an RN, you will be proficient or working towards proficiency in nursing functions, ensuring high standards of care and patient safety throughout the facility.
What we're looking for in a RN-Registered Nurse-Skilled Nursing
To thrive as a Registered Nurse (RN) at Cobble Hill LifeCare, candidates must possess a combination of essential skills and qualifications. Firstly, an active RN license for New York State and graduation from an approved school of nursing (Associate's or Bachelor's degree) are prerequisites. CPR certification is also required.
While prior experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care facility is preferred, it is not mandatory. Familiarity with SigmaCare software is advantageous but not essential. Additionally, successful RNs must demonstrate strong assessment skills to evaluate resident needs effectively and make informed clinical decisions.
The ability to prioritize and coordinate nursing unit activities is crucial for maintaining an organized and efficient care environment. Strong communication and leadership skills will further enhance collaboration with the clinical team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care to all residents.
