DESCRIPTION
Michael Baker is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Roadway Engineer to join our Ridgeland, MS office! The ideal candidate will possess strong verbal and written communication skills, along with a proven ability to lead design efforts on transportation projects. The successful candidate will demonstrate expertise in delivering roadway projects and exhibit the following leadership characteristics:

Michael Baker is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Roadway Engineer to join our Ridgeland, MS office! The ideal candidate will possess strong verbal and written communication skills, along with a proven ability to lead design efforts on transportation projects. The successful candidate will demonstrate expertise in delivering roadway projects and exhibit the following leadership characteristics:
- Project Leadership: Take responsibility for developing design plans, variations and exceptions, specifications, cost estimates, and final bid packages.
- Design Management: Lead and manage the design of specific roadway tasks, ensuring high-quality and timely delivery.
- Team Collaboration: Foster a collaborative team environment and contribute to the development of team members.
- Marketing Support: Assist in marketing pursuits by developing concepts and providing technical support for letters of response.
- MDOT Experience: Demonstrated experience with the Mississippi Department of Transportation (MDOT) on traditional design bid-build projects and/or design-build highway projects.
PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Experience: Minimum of 4 years of related experience in roadway design.
- Education: Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (BSCE).
- Licensure: Professional Engineer (PE) in Mississippi or the ability to obtain licensure within 6 months.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficient with Bentley Open Roads software.
- Additional Skills: Experience with 3D Modeling, StormCAD, MS4 Design, and AutoTURN is a plus.
