Job Title: Wound and Ostomy Registered Nurse
Job Specialty: Wound and Ostomy RN
Job Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Days 5x8 - 6:45am - 3:00pm
Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
Experience: Minimum of 2 years preferred
License: RN License
Certifications: BCLS, Wound Care Certification preferred
Must-Have: Ability to effectively communicate in English, both verbally and written
Job Description:
- Establish satisfactory interpersonal relationships with co-workers, colleagues, patients, families, and significant others.
- Initiate communication with patients and families to determine individual needs.
- Collaborate with co-workers and colleagues in other disciplines and departments to share ideas and information about related activities and needs.
- Provide detailed patient education to patients and family members during inpatient stay and at discharge following prescribed teaching plans.
- Respond effectively, both verbally and non-verbally, to communications from patients, families, and significant others as well as colleagues and supervisors.
- Ensure that decisions and actions on behalf of patients are determined in an ethical manner.
- Demonstrate sensitivity to the values of self and others.
- Involve patients and families in the plan of care, incorporating their cultural, spiritual, and other belief systems.
- Possess good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Handle physical demands such as standing, walking, sitting, talking, hearing, bending, and potentially repetitive motions with reasonable accommodations if needed.
- Meet the requirements of a Registered Nurse with the ability to prioritize and problem-solve.
- Collaborate effectively with the healthcare team.
- Hold a Bachelor's Degree and preferably a Master's Degree in Nursing.
