Job Description
Job Title: Registered Nurse

Job Specialty: Wound Care

Job Duration: 13 weeks

Shift: Days 5x8 with every other weekend

Guaranteed Hours: 37.50 hours per week

Experience: Some experience preferred, wound care experience required

License: Licensed and currently registered as a professional nurse

Certifications: Relevant certifications in nursing preferred

Must-Have: Wound Care Experience

Job Description:

- Utilize the nursing process to provide direct patient care.
- Responsible for prescribing, delegating, and coordinating all care for assigned patients.
- Diagnose and treat human responses to health problems through case finding, health teaching, counseling, and supportive care.
- Supervise care provided by licensed practical nurses, registered nurses on permit, nursing attendants, technicians, and supplemental staff.
- Assess immediate and ongoing care needs of patients and their significant others.
- Develop comprehensive plans of care, including physical, educational, discharge planning, and psychosocial needs.
- Provide direct patient care based on assessed needs and medical regimens.
- Oversee provision of care by other nursing personnel within the scope of practice.
- Communicate and document patient responses to illness and treatment plans.
- Reassess patient responses to treatment and adjust care plans as necessary.
- Establish priorities for care in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.
- Ensure the care plan integrates age-specific needs.
- Accept responsibility for nursing interventions and outcomes.
- Participate in quality improvement activities related to patient care and hospital standards development.
- Communicate effectively and facilitate relationships with other disciplines.
- Participate in orientation of new nursing staff and assume charge responsibilities as needed.
- Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
- Serve as a clinical resource for student nurses.
- Engage in meetings, committees, conferences, and educational programs.
- Participate in research and pilot projects.
- Demonstrate continuous professional growth and education, including pursuing advanced degrees and certifications.
- Engage in professional and community organizations.
- Perform additional duties as requested.
