POSITION DESCRIPTION
Los Alamos National Lab (LANL) seeks to modernize its operational data store Operational Data Store (ODS). The existing ODS is an on-premise database and we are planning to move to a cloud-based solution. This position for a Senior Cloud Architect will be focused on creating a roadmap to be used for implementing this modernization.
Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) is embarking on an initiative to modernize its Operational Data Store (ODS) by transitioning from its current fully on-premises database solution to a hybrid or full cloud-based solution. To support this critical effort, we are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Data Architect Consultant to develop a comprehensive roadmap for this modernization project. This role will play a pivotal part in defining the strategy, architecture, and implementation framework necessary to enable a seamless and effective migration to the cloud.
Responsibilities:
Leads and performs nuclear and non-nuclear risk and hazard analyses to ensure safe operation of nuclear and/or non-nuclear facilities. Specific duties may include, but are not necessarily limited to: hazard identification, hazard analysis, facility hazard categorization, accident analysis, selection of controls, and development of associated safety basis documents including unreviewed safety question determinations, documented safety analysis, technical safety requirements, safety assessment documents, facility safety plans, and facility safety analysis. This resource will specifically develop and present Documented Safety Analysis and Technical Safety Requirement writer training. Assist in senior in revisions to SB policy and implementing documents.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Position typically requires a bachelor's degree in Engineering or Science and a minimum of fifteen years of related experience. Equivalent education and experience appropriate for performing safety analysis work may be considered. Requires passing a review by the Safety Basis Division Qualification Review Board.

9/80 or 5/8 schedule available.

- Needs to meet the experience level outlined in the job description.
- Will be building NTC type course, need equivalent training to for this division. They lost their training support which is needed to qualify Safety Basis Analysis.
- Will develop NTC like course and train staff
- Task oriented assignment, resource will need time to build it, qualifications need to be up to speed with NTC.

- Expert level knowledge to DOE SB orders and standards
- Qualification present or past as National Training Center master instructor level for Unreviewed Safety Question and Technical Safety Requirements classes.
- NTC Experience
- LANL Training Knowledge.
- Level of Safety Basis experience.
- Ability to work in a diverse work environment,
- Satisfactory results of a pre-employment screening, which includes a background check and drug screening,
- Ability to fulfill and promote L&A core values.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Active Q highly preferred.
- Certified trainer for NTC would be preferred.
