About this Opportunity
This position based in the West Central Area at Paramount's Alhambra Gas Plant near Rocky Mountain House requires a self-motivated individual with vision, purpose, and energy. Reporting to the Health & Safety Manager, this role is responsible for loss control management, reducing safety-related losses and the risk of incidents. The position is required to have a presence in the field and a strong relationship with Production Operations. This is a diverse and evolving role and will require strength in initiating continuous improvement initiatives. This position primarily supports the West Central region, but will be a part of the Paramount Environment, Health, Safety & Sustainability team and will support corporate initiatives and other production regions as required.

About this Opportunity
This position based in the West Central Area at Paramount's Alhambra Gas Plant near Rocky Mountain House requires a self-motivated individual with vision, purpose, and energy. Primary Responsibilities:
- Development and maintenance of health and safety standards, policies and procedures.
- Provide coaching and training on safety related competencies
- Participate in all levels of risk analysis i.e.: JSA development, SIMOPS, HAZOP
- Support Paramount's Emergency Management Program assisting in the preparation and implementation of the Emergency Response Plans, related training and required exercises
- Support and lead incident management processes to help ensure proper reporting and analysis of incidents fostering continuous improvement
- Assist in assessing the training curriculum of health and safety related courses
- Support the development, implementation and maintenance of Paramount's Operations Excellence Management System (POEMS)
- Support Contractor Management processes and contractor performance evaluations with ongoing Safety Management system audits and assessments of site activities
- Monitor, track and communicate key performance indicators
- Conduct and participate in audits and inspections to ensure compliance with Regulatory requirements and Paramount standards
- Liaise with regulatory agencies regarding compliance issues involving health and safety
Qualifications:
- Completion of a High School Diploma (required)
- Valid H2S and First Aid certifications along with a valid Class 5 Driver's License (required)
- Minimum of 5 years in oil and gas industry (required)
- Additional 5 years in a related occupation or safety role (required)
- Preference to candidates with formally recognized safety credentials (e.g., CRSP)
- Completion of a University degree or technology diploma would be considered an asset
- Formal risk analysis training would be considered an asset
- Familiarity with regulatory agencies and Corporate Policies and Procedures
- P&ID Interpretation, Knowledge in Risk Management Strategies, HAZOP would be considered an asset
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- A passion for excellence
- Strong trouble shooting and decision-making abilities
- Strong leadership and analytical skills
- Ability to work collaboratively and driven to achieve results
- Must reside in the Rocky Mountain House, AB area or Red Deer, AB
