DIRECTOR OF SALES - ONTARIO & INTERNATIONAL

This position can be based out of Cambridge or Tillsonburg, ON.

Reporting to the Senior Vice President, the Director of Sales is responsible for managing the sales programs for Armtec in Ontario and Internationally. Sales forecasts/budgets are developed by the Director of Sales through constant communication with all Regional Sales Managers (RSM's), Regional Managers and Senior Management. The Director of Sales will ensure marketing initiatives are prioritized, coordinated, and in- line with sales strategies and budgets.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Through close co-operation with the Senior Vice-President, ensures that our customer base is provided with top-of-the-line customer service, estimating, engineering and manufacturing quality and service.
  • Working with Senior Management, develops and implements strategies to achieving the forecast/budgets are met and or exceeded.
  • Prepares an expense budget and ensures that RSM's stay within this expense budget.
  • Provide direction and guidance of Regional Sales Managers in the field to ensure that all market opportunities are attended to.
  • Make sales and marketing in-person and telephone calls on key Armtec accounts; including supportive and non-supportive customers, related to the industry.
  • Work closely with our Marketing team to ensure that Armtec's marketing initiatives and strategy are completed to acceptable standards and within budget.
  • Accompany RSM's on key sales calls and provide direction.
  • Write regular reports to summarize sales activity for review by senior management and ownership.
  • Develops business cases, gains approval and delivers to agreed scope, budget and timescale.
  • Defines long-term strategic goals to achieve the highest levels of products and service quality, meeting or exceeding customer's needs and regional goals.
  • Take active interest in trends within the industry.


This role requires:
  • A Bachelor's university degree or college diploma, experience in Business or Management or a related discipline is preferred.
  • Knowledge of the consultative selling process (i.e., the building of long-term customer relationships).
  • 5+ years of progressive sales management experience, preferably in a product manufacturing or construction environment.
  • Advanced communication and listening skills; both oral and written, to communicate clearly and persuasively.
  • Sales, marketing and customer service skills to promote products, close sales, and maintain customer relations.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, which involve the ability to effectively interact with people at all levels of the organization and for team-building purposes is required.
  • Report writing skills for budget preparations, sales presentations, and other sales correspondence.
  • Strong customer service/client relations skills to maintain and secure customer accounts.
  • Skills as a self-starter including initiative and self-confidence for leadership and self-motivation purposes.
  • Solid organizational, and time and priority management skills are needed to organize and plan workload priorities on a daily, weekly, monthly and yearly basis.
  • Demonstrated credibility, respect and integrity when performing selling and marketing activities.
  • Knowledge of computer skills in: MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook. Proficiency in Windows based applications.
  • Extensive travel within the province of Ontario, with irregular hours due to travel schedule
