In this key role as the Sales Director of Serefin Travel, you will play a pivotal role in driving revenue growth within the travel loyalty sector, focusing on both hunting for new business opportunities and farming existing accounts. You will drive revenue growth by establishing and nurturing relationships with key stakeholders, including airlines, hotels, travel agencies, and other partners. This role requires a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of the travel industry and proven experience in sales leadership.
Scope of Role
- Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy to achieve revenue targets and business objectives within the travel loyalty market, with a focus of 30% on acquiring new clients (hunting) and 70% on growing and maintaining existing relationships M(farming). As the nature of the role will gradually pivot towards acquiring new clients over time, an ability to drive new sales is key to success.
- Build and nurture relationships with key stakeholders, including airlines, hotels, travel agencies, and other partners.
- Identify and capitalize on new business opportunities and partnerships that align with company goals and enhance our competitive positioning.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including marketing, product development, and operations to ensure alignment and maximize sales effectiveness.
- Stay current with industry trends, market dynamics, and competitor activities to identify opportunities for growth and innovation.
- Prepare and present regular sales reports and forecasts to senior management, highlighting achievements, challenges, and opportunities.
Required Experience
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, Marketing, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in sales roles within the travel industry, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership position.
- Proven track record of successfully meeting or exceeding sales targets and driving revenue growth.
- Deep understanding of travel loyalty programs, including trends, challenges, and opportunities.
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to close complex deals and partnerships.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to travel as needed to meet with clients and attend industry events.
- Experience with CRM software selection and implementation (e.g., Salesforce) and sales analytics tools.
