Needed immediately: Selectek is looking for a Sales Engineer in Kansas City, MO. The Sales Engineer plays a crucial role in bridging design and sales between the company, builders, and brand partners. This position is responsible for developing preliminary structural designs, collaborating with internal and external teams, and delivering professional proposals for both conventional and hybrid buildings.
Required:
Salary: $110,000 - $130,000 depending on experience
Location: Kansas City, MO
Hours and Shift: Monday to Friday, 8AM-5PM
Work from home/remote: Yes, if in KC, can be hybrid - if other locations, they will be remote
Overtime: only when needed
Travel: Not significantly, if any - maybe a time or two per year
Work Attire: Business casual

Required:
- Bachelor of Science in Civil, Structural Engineering, Architectural Engineering or related field.
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) OR on track to obtain your PE within the next few years.
- Have experience with steel building design; pre-engineered metal building experience is beneficial.
- Have working knowledge of-or a willingness to learn-industry-relevant software such as RAM, RISA, REVIT, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and others (Ram and Risa are the most important to have)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills including experience with Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Develop and manage relationships with external engineering resources as needed, including obtaining supplier quotes, preparing estimates, and delivering proposals.
- Review building plans and specifications to assess project scope and proposal requirements.
- Engage with customers to understand their building needs, clarify project details, and ensure timely proposal delivery.
- Prepare or oversee preliminary structural designs using both conventional steel and PEMB design tools, incorporating proposal drawings and reactions as necessary.
- Collaborate with management and brand sales teams to refine sales strategies, define margin targets, and advocate for BCSS solutions.
- In this role, you will not actually be selling anything but need communication skills as you will work closely with builders. The sales team will handle sales.
