Description

We are hiring a Sales Manager to join our Growth team!

As a Sales Manager, your will:
  • Manage a team of Account Executives (AE) and Account Managers (AM)
  • Be responsible for what success looks like as an AE and AM at Spare
  • Be the go-to support person for the team through their sales process
  • Have a significant role in Spare's long-term growth and success!


Our Spare headquarters is located in Vancouver, BC, but this position is open to remote work options within Canada and the USA.

The salary provided is the OTE salary for Canada. Commissions are uncapped.

About the role
  • Oversee, mentor and develop a team of Account Executives (AE) and Account Managers (AM) - via performance reviews, 1:1s, feedback in pipeline reviews, offering deal support and providing training when needed
  • Define KPIs, metrics and targets, assign territories, develop and continuously assess quotas for team members
  • Understand and support the buying journey - This includes supporting the team in discovery calls, demos, RFP preparation/presentation, and contracting/negotiations
  • Be a champion for the AE & AM team - work cross-functionally with the Marketing team, Proposal team, Leadership team etc.
  • Recruit and hire top talent - understand what makes a successful AE & AM and interview, hire, onboard and train new team members
  • Actively collaborate with AEs and AMs on critical sales opportunities to drive urgency and executive support.
  • Own pipeline health & coverage for your team, ensuring team members are successful with high attainments
  • Travel to visit customers, prospects and attend conferences, representing Spare within the Market
  • Take ownership over your team's culture, driving high performance, world-class standards and operational execution


About you
  • Experience in Transit Technology sales and/or sales for government agencies (ideally 4+ years)
  • Experience leading/managing a team
  • Passion for and interest in Urban Planning and/or Transit (or correlated areas)
  • Understanding of the transit industry (knowledge of the types of transit systems, regulations, and funding structures, to effectively support our customers and users)
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal, written and presentation skills) with the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of audiences in a personable way
  • Availability to travel frequently within Canada and the USA

It will be considered a plus:
  • Experience with B2G Sales
  • Experience in a transit tech company
  • Experience in a transit agency
