St Julien Hotel & Spa is in search of a uniquely talented Sales Manager to join our team! Our ideal candidate will be a dedicated sales professional who is passionate about hospitality, and committed to providing meaningful experiences to guests while maximizing group revenue.
Essential Job Functions:
- Sell guest rooms, meeting space, and other Hotel related services.
- Respond to client inquiries/concerns in an effective and timely manner. This may include telephone inquiries, RFP bids, proposals, booking confirmations, and "thank you"/follow-up letters.
- Conduct outside sales calls to cultivate existing customers and develop new business.
- Prepare and present effective proposals and maintain well-organized files and reports.
- Plan and execute on-site inspections and tours of the Hotel for new/potential clients.
- Communicate relevant details to other departments within acceptable time frames regarding upcoming group needs, VIP clients, meeting functions, billing procedures, etc.
- Contribute to the research and development of the annual strategic marketing plan, budget and monthly forecasts.
- Develop strong customer relationships through frequent communication and the use of professional, courteous, and ethical interpersonal interactions.
- Maintain quality call and solicitation records.
- Meet or exceed established sales goals and profit margins.
- Actively participate in weekly revenue meetings.
- Maintain a solid working knowledge of industry and trends in market.
- Contribute and work as a team member in all facets of the position.
- Other duties as requested by manager.
Ideal Candidate:
- Represents themselves and the Hotel with the highest level of integrity and professionalism, a service-focused demeanor, and a courteous, sincere attitude at all times.
- Promotes collaboration and a positive, professional work environment.
- Should be well versed in the concept of "upselling" and understanding of the importance of food & beverage/meeting room rental revenues in the overall success of the business.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years' sales experience at a luxury, full-service hotel is required. Previous experience at a Four Star and/or Four Diamond property is strongly preferred.
- Must be able to demonstrate a proven track record of success in sales, negotiations, and business writing/presentation.
- General computer knowledge and proficiency using MS Office products is required.
- Must be able to hear, speak, read, and write English fluently; Spanish-language ability is a plus but not required.
- Must have open and flexible availability and be able to work on-site (vs. remotely). Typical workweek is Monday - Friday, however schedule may fluctuate based on contracted events and/or scheduled appointments.
