POSITION SUMMARY

In this role you will work closely with Sales, Vertiv Business Units & Sales Operations to understand customer requirements, to investigate competitor positioning, and to provide optimal bid prices in support of the current Vertiv goals. The individual will need to work collaboratively to consolidate data from different sources to propose a bid price which maximizes the chances of satisfying Vertiv's goals, which could include profit margin, sales revenue, manufacturing capacity and/or market share.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Prioritization of bids: Develop the strategy and tools to implement monitoring and prioritization of the incoming bids. The focus will initially be on the largest bids.
  • Co-ordinate pricing efforts on bids: Ensure information is consolidated from the different sources and that Vertiv's disparate goals are understood and satisfied. Work across all the necessary functions to pull together the relevant information.
  • Drive and support the bid process: Deliver pricing on time, in line with customer requirements.
  • Support pricing & inventory analysis: Work with the Operations team to obtain up-to-date reporting for analysis of inventory
  • Streamline business reporting: Ensure each result is monitored and documented, to be useful for future analysis.
  • Ad-hoc bid support: There will be times where a different type of analysis is needed. This position will be the front-line support for those types of requests.
  • Maintain functional understanding of Vertiv's technologies, solutions and capabilities
  • Build in-depth understanding of the key Vertiv resources and decision makers of various business functions and disciplines
  • Develop fundamental understanding of Vertiv's served markets, our go-to-market business models, and competitor's strengths and weaknesses.
  • Ensure that customer/market data demand is appropriately captured in the Vertiv CRM tools
  • Other duties as assigned


QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 5+ years' experience, preferably in a sales support function with pricing and bid experience
  • 3+ years in delivering business intelligence solutions
  • Must have strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Should display critical business thinking skills
  • Self-motivated and able to function with limited day to day direction
  • Must be able to grasp complex organizational concepts and organize effectively
  • Flexibility to respond to changing needs and requirements
  • Must possess strong analytical capabilities
  • Ability to problem solve and quickly implement solutions
  • Strong business and financial acumen
  • Thorough understanding of key Vertiv Goals and Strategies required to achieve those goals
  • PowerBI experience a plus, but not required
  • Oracle experience a plus, but not required
