Role:
The Sales Solution Specialist is responsible for helping the customer succeed while achieving specific team and individual sales and profit goals set by the company. Provide an exceptional level of business to business (B2B) sales consultation, account management, customer service, and innovative solutions that differentiate Sysco in the marketplace. This role is responsible for the account management and growth of Healthcare & Senior Living independent customer sales with a territory size of approximately 75 Accounts and $18 million.

Role:
The Sales Solution Specialist is responsible for helping the customer succeed while achieving specific team and individual sales and profit goals set by the company. Provide an exceptional level of business to business (B2B) sales consultation, account management, customer service, and innovative solutions that differentiate Sysco in the marketplace. This role is responsible for the account management and growth of Healthcare & Senior Living independent customer sales with a territory size of approximately 75 Accounts and $18 million.
Role Responsibilities:
- Accountable for Business Development for independent Healthcare (HC) & Senior Living (SL) customers in the local and surrounding area.
- Add product lines to existing customers by identifying opportunities and incorporate team selling activities.
- Develops and delivers sales bids/proposals/presentations and conducts product demonstrations with key decision makers.
- Executes National Sales Team strategy and collaborates on opportunities to obtain new lines and recover lost lines of business.
- Identifies opportunities to improve customer account profitability.
- Manages accurate sales pipeline, consultative activities, and customer contact information in customer relationship management (CRM) tool.
- Supports quarterly business reviews with local customer headquarters to discuss joint opportunities to grow sales and improve profitability.
- Ensures customer contract compliance and define action plans to align to master service agreement (MSA) representations.
- Provides consultative services by providing market trends and insights, identifying integration points with Specialty Companies (Fresh Point, European Imports, SOTF, Buckhead).
- Engages the Customer Experience Team to escalate all customer issues.
- Coordinates and leads all activities and resources for targeted accounts and ensures follow-up on all next step agreements.
- Understands our customers' business and provides value-added solutions through products, services, tools, and information to help them succeed. Provides education, promotes offerings, and leverages these resources to drive business growth with targeted accounts.
- Establishes positive working relationships with all departments in the Region.
- Utilizes CRM tools (Sysco 360) as communication and measurement tool.
- Complies with Sysco's Food Safety Policy and procedures to ensure food safety, quality and legality requirements are met.
- Is willing to work safely with minimal environmental impact and understands the importance of reporting all hazards, incidents, and environmental spills immediately to their supervisor.
- Understands that they play an integral role in their own safety and that of their colleagues and is willing to speak out when hazards are present.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Skills/Job Requirements (About you):
- 2 years or more of sales experience required.
- Bilingual in French required
- Experience in healthcare and/or senior living an asset
- Post-Secondary Degree or Diploma in a business-related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook.
- There will be travel required. A valid driver's license in good standing with access to a vehicle is required.
- Professional salesperson with proven ability to cultivate relationships and grow sales.
- Strong financial acumen and ability to properly plan and execute business plans.
- Demonstrated skills in consultative selling, networking and negotiations.
- Business and restaurant operations acumen to manage sophisticated customers.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with and influence a variety of key stakeholders.
- Ability to express information in terms of profit and loss, food cost and expense ratio.
- Persuasive communication skills, ability to effectively communicate with internal and external teams.
- Demonstrate a high level of business acumen and interpersonal savvy.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills, including the ability to execute multiple initiatives at the same time.
- Ability to learn the use of proprietary CRM tools for planning and forecasting sales growth.
- Solid analytical problem-solving skills, including familiarity with analyzing reports and deriving insights from data.
- Proactive, self-directed, with the ability to structure a weekly schedule to be successful.
