The Salesforce Developer/Engineer will play a critical role in the success of Valley Strong's mission critical Salesforce platform. As an integral part of the credit union's Salesforce Center of Excellence (COE), the Salesforce Developer/Engineer will work closely with the COE leadership to implement, deliver and support complex business solutions leveraging the Salesforce platform.

The ideal candidate would have significant Salesforce technical experience and abilities with and related ecosystem. The candidate will utilize their Salesforce development and engineering expertise to drive innovation at Valley Strong Credit Union to simplify, transform and grow Valley Strong.

Qualified candidates must have proven experience in Apex, Flows, Lightning (Aura and LWC), Sales and Service Cloud and be well versed in standard software development best practices. Experience with OmniStudio, Financial Services Cloud and Experience Cloud preferred

Essential Duties
  • Work closely with the Senior Salesforce Engineer/Architect and the Vice President, Enterprise Salesforce Leader to:
  • Perform configuration, development, and deployment on Salesforce projects, enhancements and bugs. Serve as a technical contributor on Salesforce projects
  • Develop, implement, and maintain Lightning Components (Aura and LWC), Force.com pages and integration with on-premises or third-party solutions using Web Services, REST, including creation of custom objects, Apex classes, triggers, workflows, email alerts
  • Build integrations with Salesforce and other systems such as MuleSoft, Marketing Cloud and core banking systems
  • Develop solutions with OmniStudio and its various components for building guided interactions, digital processes, and integration procedures
  • Conduct peer code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to best practices
  • Support integrated applications with an understanding of system integration, test planning, scripting, and troubleshooting.
  • Perform independent development, testing, implementation and documentation as it relates to the Salesforce platform.
  • Maintain documentation and change standards, following the prescribed software development lifecycle by tracking the progress of code and its multiple iterations. Utilize source code development and version control systems
  • Perform development & deployment activities using Visual Studio Code, Version Control Systems (such as Git) and be familiar with DevOps processes
  • Manage Production org including data load activities and deployments using CI/CD tools
  • Partner with the functional side of the Salesforce Center of Excellence and other stakeholders to identify enhancements and build and execute a robust product backlog for Salesforce.
  • Juggle multiple priorities with the ability to manage time effectively. Strong work ethic and disciplined time management skills. Self-starter able to work proactively and with minimal supervision
  • Communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical & non-technical stakeholders. Ability to collaborate with team members and business stakeholders at all levels of the organization

5+ years' experience in Software Development

5+ years of experience preferred in Salesforce development including Apex Classes, Flows, Triggers, SOQL, SOSL and Lightning components (Aura and LWC)

Understanding of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations

Experience with agile development methodology and working with the business and the Salesforce product owner to improve and enhance Salesforce. Experience with Jira and Confluence or other Agile development tool

Experience with technologies that work with Salesforce, JavaScript, Web Services, REST and SOAP APIs

Good understanding of the following Salesforce specific areas:
  • Data structures and database schema
  • Salesforce Lightning Framework, Apex and Flows
  • Product knowledge: Salesforce Sales, Service, and Marketing Clouds
    • Familiarity with Financial Services Cloud, Experience Cloud & MuleSoft preferred
    • Service Cloud Voice, OmniStudio & OmniScript familiarity a plus


Experience working with source control development and version control system such as Git. Knowledge of DevOps and continuous integration/deployment (CI/CD) processes. Familiar with Dev Ops tools such as Gearset, AutoRabbit, Compado or others

Familiarity with Agile methodologies and experience working in an Agile development environment

Language Skills

Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to Members and other Team Members at the organization.
