Description:

POSITION PURPOSE :
  • Performs Systems Applications Processes (SAP) application design, development, enhancement, maintenance, and implementation of SAP Business Suite and other systems as assigned, with system-wide responsibility on complex components or complex projects.
  • Gathers information from users, defines work problems, and plans projects to enable analysts and programmers to develop required systems.
  • Provides direction to project and support team members.
  • Troubleshoots complex problems and recommends appropriate actions; may be called upon to solve highly technical, complex problems or consult on other projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND RESULTS
  • Guides users in formulating requirements; advises on alternatives and implications of new or revised computer systems/applications technology to respond to customer needs.
  • Analyzes user project proposals, identifies omissions and errors in requirements, and conducts feasibility studies.
  • Recommends optimum approach and develops system design for approved projects to support project objectives.
  • May write proposals and price-out projects.
  • Develops new and maintains existing complex systems and subsystems, such as inventory control, payroll, or financial/cost analysis, in which transactions are automatically processed through full system of records; ensures reliability of cross-company applications for maintenance of business and continuous improvement.
  • Informally arbitrates between system users when conflicts arise to support problem resolution.
  • Uses all phases of system analysis concepts, techniques, and methods; knowledge of available system software, computer equipment and regulations, structure, techniques, and management practices of one or more subject areas to design complex systems or subsystems to respond to customer needs.
  • Reviews design, analysis, and code for quality and adherence to standards to ensure quality of systems.
  • Prepares and gives presentations to user management.
  • Travels overnight away from corporate offices, including internationally, ensuring clarity and communication.
  • Provides on-call support on evenings and weekends as necessary and problem resolution for computer applications to ensure maintenance of business systems and continuous improvement.
  • May serve as lead analyst in design subgroup, directing and integrating work of analysts, each responsible for several programs in support of department manager.
  • Maintains currency of knowledge with respect to relevant state-of-the-art technology, equipment, and/or systems to support continuous improvement.
  • Assists with transfer of knowledge of SAP development skill.
  • Utilizes personal computer (PC) and keyboard/mouse extensively while performing functions of position.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Computer
  • Engineering, or equivalent.OR Two years formal education from technical school, college, or certification program in computer science, computer information systems, or computer systems engineering AND two year experience developing and maintaining software. OR Four years business process engineering experience on technical projects, designing, developing, and maintaining software.Work
Experience
  • Seven years SAP development experience in two or more of following: ABAP, ABAP HCM, ABAP Adobe, SAP IT/XI, MII, or Netweaver.
  • Detailed knowledge of SAP development skills tools and their application.
  • Proficient in oData V4, Fiori and SAP Extended Warehouse Management EWM
  • Knowledge of broad range of relevant alternative computer systems, applications, and equipment.
  • Ability to develop and/or modify and adapt systems, hardware configurations, and programs to meet individually specified needs.
  • Ability to determine computer problems and coordinate hardware and/or software solutions.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret information systems proposals and evaluate and develop alternative implementation plans.
  • Ability to interpret and evaluate client informational needs and determine appropriate alternative solutions.
  • Knowledge of computer systems analysis and design concepts, methods, procedures, and standards.
  • Knowledge of broad range of relevant multi-user computer systems, applications, and/or equipment.
  • Ability to evaluate and interpret end user information requirements and develop appropriate systems and/or applications solutions.
  • Knowledge of current technological developments/trends in area of expertise. Ability to develop and deliver presentations.
  • Knowledge of information flow and management environments within area of operational specialty.
  • Ability to plan, design, coordinate installation, test, and modify complex systems and subsystems.
  • Ability to specify and develop computer programs, using range of programming languages.
  • Ability to assess and maintain quality of programming structure, design, and coding.
  • Knowledge of computer flow charts and of programming logic and codes.
  • Conflict resolution and/or mediation skills.
  • PC and keyboard/mouse skills
  • Ability to occasionally travel overnight away from corporate offices, including internationally.
