We are seeking an experienced SCADA Engineer (SE) at who will play a pivotal role in the development and optimization of our reciprocating engines and battery energy storage systems. You will work closely with our multidisciplinary team of engineers to design, implement, and maintain our SCADA systems that ensures the reliability, efficiency, security, and safety of our power generation sites. We are seeking an experienced SCADA Engineer (SE) at who will play a pivotal role in the development and optimization of our reciprocating engines and battery energy storage systems. You will work closely with our multidisciplinary team of engineers to design, implement, and maintain our SCADA systems that ensures the reliability, efficiency, security, and safety of our power generation sites. You will:
- Design and implement SCADA systems for thermal power plants and battery storage systems.
- Integrate SCADA systems with new and existing generation assets to ensure real-time, secure monitoring and control.
- Develop and maintain communication protocols between field equipment, control systems, and central monitoring platforms.
- Analyze SCADA system performance and implement optimization strategies to improve efficiency, reliability, and security.
- Troubleshoot SCADA system issues, both software and hardware, ensuring minimal downtime and operational interruptions.
- Conduct root cause analysis of SCADA system failures or anomalies and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and provide technical support and guidance during product development, manufacturing, testing, and deployment phases as well as during ongoing operations.
- Continuously evaluate emerging technologies and methodologies to enhance the capabilities and reliability of I&C and SCADA systems.
- Ensure all SCADA systems are compliant with ERCOT and industry standards, including cybersecurity best practices.
- Maintain accurate documentation of SCADA configurations, updates, and modifications.
- Support the development of operational procedures and manuals related to SCADA system use.
What You Bring to the Team:
- Must be able to legally work in the United States of America
- Minimum of 3 years of experience working with SCADA systems in the energy or power generation industry (thermal and/or battery storage experience preferred).
- Hands-on experience with SCADA system design, installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
- Experience with communication protocols such as DNP3, Modbus, OPC, IEC 61850, or similar.
- Knowledge of ERCOT grid operations, energy markets, and regulatory requirements is a plus.
- Proficiency in SCADA software platforms (e.g., Wonderware, GE iFix, or Siemens WinCC).
- Familiarity with control systems and industrial automation (PLC, RTU, HMI).
- Understanding of electrical systems and power generation technologies.
- Experience with data analytics, database management, and visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, SQL, Excel).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.
- A working knowledge of the Upstream Oil and Gas, and/or CCS industries and related equipment, materials, and technology
- Willing to travel up to 5 - 20% of the time (primarily U.S. locations) to field sites and work in remote or challenging environments.
- Education, certifications, and experience commensurate with a SCADA Engineer level role. Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends or on-call, to support operational needs.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices for SCADA and industrial control systems is highly desirable.
- Highly proficient verbal and written communication skill set.
