Job Summary:
The Supply Chain Director is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end supply chain operations in a fast-paced cosmetic manufacturing environment. This position will lead key initiatives in purchasing, sourcing, inventory management, logistics, and production planning to ensure the efficient and cost-effective flow of goods from suppliers to customers. A strong focus will be placed on building relationships with suppliers, negotiating favorable terms, and optimizing the procurement and sourcing processes to meet the company's business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
- Purchasing & Sourcing Management (40%)
- Develop and execute strategies for sourcing raw materials, packaging, and components, ensuring alignment with production needs and quality standards.
- Lead supplier negotiations, securing favorable pricing, terms, and service agreements.
- Monitor supplier performance and compliance, addressing any issues related to quality, lead times, or capacity.
- Drive cost-saving initiatives and identify opportunities for procurement optimization.
- Inventory & Demand Planning (20%)
- Oversee demand forecasting and inventory management, ensuring optimal stock levels are maintained to support production schedules without overstocking or shortages.
- Implement inventory control policies and procedures, balancing cost efficiency with production needs.
- Utilize demand planning tools and systems to maintain an accurate forecast based on sales data and market trends.
- Logistics & Distribution (20%)
- Manage and optimize inbound and outbound logistics, including transportation, warehousing, and distribution.
- Ensure on-time delivery of materials to production and finished goods to customers.
- Collaborate with third-party logistics providers and internal teams to streamline shipping processes and reduce lead times.
- Cross-functional Collaboration (10%)
- Partner with manufacturing, sales, marketing, and R&D teams to align supply chain initiatives with broader company goals.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the supply chain to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and support new product launches.
- Provide insights to senior leadership regarding supply chain performance, market trends, and risks.
- Compliance & Risk Management (10%)
- Ensure all supply chain activities adhere to regulatory and quality standards, including FDA, GMP, and ISO requirements.
- Mitigate risks by developing contingency plans for supply chain disruptions, including alternative sourcing and safety stock strategies.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market trends, supply chain best practices, and potential risks that may impact the business.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in supply chain management, with a strong background in purchasing and sourcing within the cosmetics or related industries.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree or professional certifications (e.g., CSCP, CPSM) is a plus.
- Skills:
- Expertise in purchasing, sourcing, supplier relationship management, and contract negotiations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience in demand forecasting and inventory management.
- Knowledge of supply chain software systems (e.g., ERP, MRP, WMS) - SAP is a Plus
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Ability to work cross-functionally and influence key stakeholders.
