Stantec is seeking a full time Scheduler in Houston, TX. As a Scheduler/Project Controls Professional at Stantec, you will apply skills in scheduling, cost controls, communications, and problem solving in a fast-paced, professional, design and construction environment.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • Responsible for supporting the consultant team in developing, updating and tracking program and task order costs and schedules, and producing Program reports, as well as maintaining associated systems and tools, including:
  • Builds and maintains schedules for program, projects and task orders utilizing Oracle Primavera P6
  • Develops new schedules for complex projects with significant risks
  • Provides guidance and direction for the resolution of complex scheduling problems
  • Monitors and reports on status, including analyzing schedule and associated changes for key risk areas and milestones impact
  • Performs schedule analysis to include critical activities, risk areas, key milestones and significant changes to schedule
  • Communicates status of schedule including key risk areas to the team
  • Revises forecasts and evaluates impact of delay
  • May develop "what if" scenarios to explore alternate sequencing
  • May prepare reports from schedules including EVA analysis
  • May perform detailed review of contractor schedule submittals
  • May perform claims related analysis using contractor claims, delay cost estimates, time impacts, etc.

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials
  • Understanding of scheduling and other project control concepts including the ability to effectively communicate ideas to others
  • Advanced knowledge of Oracle Primavera P6 is required
  • Recognizes when technical problems are developing and initiates appropriate corrective actions
  • Experience with Cost Management services including cost control, planning, earned value analysis, forecasting, report production, cash flow maintenance & change management
  • Ability to check own work for accuracy and completeness
  • Ability to participate and collaborate in project team setting and to engage in creative and critical thought
  • Expertise in using Microsoft Office suite of tools (Word, PowerPoint and Excel) and Adobe Acrobat, with an emphasis on advanced Excel experience, including pivot tables, formula creation and refining
  • Experience working within virtual collaborative work environments

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Engineering, Construction Management, Finance, Business or related field preferred
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in financial analysis, budget management and/or project cost and schedule controls

Typical office environment includes working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
