Job Description
The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) Department of Pediatrics, Division of Pediatric Rehabilitation Medicine (PRM) is seeking a board certified/board eligible pediatric physiatrist to join a dynamic academic work environment with opportunity for inpatient and outpatient practice in close collaboration with other pediatric medical and surgical subspecialists. The position will provide appointments in the Departments of Pediatrics and Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) and offer ample opportunity for training of medical students and residents. The UAB Departments of Pediatrics and PM&R are consistently among the top NIH funded departments in their respective areas nationally.
The Division of Pediatric Rehabilitation Medicine is made up of doctors, nurses, therapists and others who specialize in the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and management of injuries and conditions that affect the brain, spinal cord, nerves, bones and muscles of children and adolescents. Our program collaborates with other agencies and organizations to serve children with disabilities. Child/family involvement in support groups and educational programs is encouraged when appropriate. Together with children and family members, the Division of Pediatric Rehabilitation Medicine serves as an advocate for disabled children with the goal that each child will be able to achieve the highest level of independent functioning.
Required Qualifications
Successful candidates must be a licensed MD, DO, MD/PhD and board certified/eligible in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation in Pediatric Rehabilitation Medicine (PRM).
