200 day contract
Salary based on experience and credentials: $80,000 - $87,000

GENERAL SUMMARY: The School Psychologist services all of the Raymond School District by providing direct treatment services, assessments/evaluations, and consultant services. The key role is that of a resource person with expertise in mental health and special education. The consultative population includes teachers, parents, counselors, and administrators.

QUALIFICATIONS (SKILLS/EXPERIENCE/TRAINING REQUIRED):
- NH Department of Education School Psychologist Certification
- Experience providing psychological assessment and counseling to students
- Knowledge of mental health and treatment of affective and behavioral disorders
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Good organizational and time management skills with an ability to work independently
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Provides psycho diagnostic services for students referred through the team process.
- Prepares written psychoeducational reports in accordance with mandated timelines, district procedures and state and federal requirements.
- Consults with parents, teachers, administrators and other professionals during the evaluation process to assist in determining the students' educational needs.
- Effectively provides and interprets evaluation results and recommendations to special education team members to provide appropriate educational support to students. Ensure families understand recommendations and have the tools to assist with implementation in the home environment.
- Assists administrators and teachers in dealing with special/emotional issues of students. Conducts risk screens of students at risk to self or others. Provides crisis management consultation to administrators and behavioral health staff.
- Serves as an interdisciplinary member of student intervention and special education teams where psychological expertise is required.
- May assist in the coordination of students placed outside the district.
- Provides professional development to staff as needed.
- Mentors professional staff.
- Supports and trains behavioral health staff, including active involvement in monthly Behavioral Health department meetings to support behavioral health initiatives.
- Supports district problem solving of the development of systems, programs and services that maximize students' social, emotional, and educational success through the Multi Tiered System of Supports.
- Maintains up-to-date knowledge in the field of school psychology and special education.
- Meet with the Executive Director of Student Support Services and the Director of Health and Wellness to keep up to date with current guidelines and standards.
- Consults with professionals from outside agencies when needed.
- Follow the Guidelines of National Association of School Psychologist's Professional Conduct Manual at all times.
- Provides direct therapeutic individual services to students as determined appropriate through the IEP team process or Student Intervention Team (SIT) process.
