POSITION: School Psychologist - 1.00 FTE
Weston High School

JOB GOAL: To support the social, emotional, and mental wellbeing of high school students

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Valid Connecticut certification with endorsement (070)
  • Masters degree in school psychology or a related field from an accredited institution
  • Capable of establishing positive and productive working relationships with students, parents, and school staff
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills


WORK YEAR: 187 days

REPORTS TO: Building Principal and/or Assistant Director of Pupil Personnel Services

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide individual and group counseling to students dealing with personal, social, or emotional challenges
  • Conduct psychological assessments to identify and evaluate students' cognitive skills, adaptive skills, and emotional and behavioral concerns
  • Attend Individualized Education Plan (IEP) meetings and contribute to the development of appropriate interventions
  • Consult with teachers, administrators, and other school staff to address students' social and emotional needs within the school setting
  • Communicate regularly with parents to discuss concerns and provide resources for supporting students' mental health
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of counseling sessions, assessments, and interventions
  • Fulfill other responsibilities as assigned by supervisor


TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Salary and work year to be established by the Contract between the Weston Board of Education and the Weston Teachers' Association.
