Position Overview:
Soliant is seeking a passionate and dedicated School Social Worker to join our team for the 2025-2026 academic year. This full-time position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students' well-being and academic success in a vibrant, diverse educational setting in Chicago, IL. The ideal candidate will be committed to fostering a positive, supportive environment and providing social, emotional, and behavioral support to students in grades K-12.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individual and group counseling services to students, addressing social, emotional, and behavioral concerns.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and parents to identify and support students' needs.
- Develop and implement interventions and strategies to promote positive behavior, emotional regulation, and conflict resolution.
- Provide crisis intervention and support to students in times of emotional distress or emergencies.
- Conduct assessments and evaluations to identify students' strengths, needs, and goals.
- Facilitate programs that promote mental health awareness, social-emotional learning, and well-being.
- Offer consultation and guidance to staff on managing classroom dynamics and addressing students' emotional needs.
- Participate in school-wide initiatives aimed at improving school culture and climate.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of services provided and student progress.
- Comply with all district and state regulations, policies, and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program.
- Illinois State Professional Educator License (PEL) with an endorsement in School Social Work.
- Proven experience working with students in an educational setting, including knowledge of developmental and emotional challenges.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to collaborate effectively with students, families, and staff.
- Compassionate, empathetic, and patient with a strong commitment to student success.
- Knowledge of school-based mental health interventions, crisis management, and restorative practices.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive situations with professionalism.
- Bilingual skills (Spanish preferred, but not required) are a plus.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Competitive weekly pay ($40 - $52 per hour)
