Job Description
Exemplified by our mission: "We Protect Those Who Protect Us", BAE Systems' FAST Labs innovates next generation capabilities for the warfighter. Through research programs funded by science and technology R&D organizations within the U.S. Department of Defense, our research and development teams fearlessly innovate and collaborate across the enterprise to create game-changing capabilities.
Sensor Technologies (ST), one of the FAST Labs' Product Lines has established itself as a market leader in the development of Multimodal Sensing technologies. Within the ST Product Line, the Multi-spectral Equipment (MSE) Technology Area imagines, designs and develops disruptive multimodal sensing and response capabilities by fusing our advanced EO/IR and RF technologies via novel processing architectures.
The Tactical Solutions group within MSE is seeking an early career scientist to create the future vision of our integrated Multimodal Sensing strategy for the defense of land and sea platforms. As a Scientist II you would be responsible for solving complex problems for our sponsored research programs and transitioning those disruptive technologies from research efforts into BAE System's Business Areas' products and services.
This position will be based out of our Merrimack, NH though it will require collaboration with staff across our business areas and facilities in the Northeast.
Because this role involves a combination of collaborative/in-person and independent work, it will take the form of a hybrid work format, with time split between working onsite and remotely.
