Reports to: Senior Scrum Master on Digital team
BASIC PURPOSE:
Fulfill the Scrum Master role for Scrum team by working directly with the Agile team and Product Owner to support and facilitate the continual delivery of technical solutions and business value for large strategic project and/or collection of projects. The Scrum Master will leverage knowledge of the asset management industry to deliver complete business solutions aligned with the strategic vision and corporate goals of the company. The Scrum Master will follow and champion Agile best practices and guidelines as defined by the company. The Scrum Master will institute an open and transparent communication environment for all project efforts across team members, stakeholders and sponsors.
Additionally, the Scrum Master will need to assist as a Business Analyst on the scrum team. This involves meeting with the Product Owner, key stakeholders, Tech Leads, and fellow scrum team members to collaborate / define / document requirements for scrum team deliverables. This means completing detailed refinement of stories for the scrum backlog, as well as ensuring the successful completion of those stories as part of an active sprint and code releases.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Leverage agile best practices to facilitate daily scrum, sprint planning, sprint demo and retrospective meetings, ensuring correct use of scrum process. This includes coaching in agile mindset, removing impediments and support Product Owner roadmap creation (as needed).
2. Help the team grow in their agile maturity by coaching advanced agile techniques and leverage metrics. Actively identify areas of improvement and conceptualize methods on how to be more effective.
3. Tracks and publishes prescribed team metrics. Leverage JIRA and/or other tools to allow for transparent visualization of project execution.
4. Builds strong relationships with business divisions and departments across the company globally; Champions collaborative discussion, decision-making and problem-solving in support of assigned initiatives.
5. Facilitate the completion of assignments efficiently and without dictating work. Contributes to building a culture where continuous improvement of the development process is a focus with a common goal to deliver outstanding software as fast as possible. Shield the team from outside distractions and interferences.
6. ctively participates in the Scrum Master Community of Practice.
7. Coordinate with other teams to ensure an effective delivery. This includes assisting with internal and external communication to ensure transparency with the team, sponsors and stakeholders.
8. Performs additional duties as required.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs analysis of business activities to determine business requirements. Works with key stakeholders to understand and define needs above and beyond requirements provided by the business. Convert business requirements into functional specifications. Works closely with business users, QA, developers, and other technology professionals to ensure that project deliverables are completed on time and within budget.
1. cts as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and the technology organization to ensure proper implementation of requirements within the expected timetable. Communicates any material modifications of business requirements to business stakeholders.
2. Collaborates with the QA team in developing high level test plans. Review test cases developed by the QA team. Work with automated testing team when needed for performance/load testing as well as automated regression testing.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
1. Bachelor's degree or equivalent required.
2. Five or more (5+) years of related project management and/or Scrum Master experience within the asset management or financial services industry.
3. Five or more (5+) years of business systems analyst experience within the asset management or financial services industry.
4. Practical experience leading strategic, cross-functional, multi-year projects through all phases of delivery.
5. Must possess strong business knowledge in asset management (preferred but not required)
6. Scrum Master Certification preferred
