Job Title: Security Service Technician

Salary: $74,000.00 - $104,000.00 per year

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Security Service Technician to join our team in Raleigh, NC. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience with at least one of the following security systems-Lenel S2, Accutech Security, Brivo, or Kantech System. Preference will be given to candidates who are proficient in two or more of these systems.

As a Security Service Technician, you will serve in a customer-facing role, providing on-site support, troubleshooting, and maintenance of commercial security solutions. You will collaborate with management and team members to drive process improvements and ensure our clients receive best-in-class service and support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Customer-Facing Support:
    • Serve in a direct customer-facing role, providing on-site support for various technical issues.
    • Provide outstanding customer service to strengthen client relationships and ensure satisfaction.
  • Installation & Maintenance:
    • Receive and perform field service calls, installations, and preventive maintenance on commercial equipment.
    • Assist in the installation and configuration of various hardware and software components for new installations or service maintenance jobs.
  • Troubleshooting & Repair:
    • Diagnose various system issues to determine system state and identify required corrective actions.
    • Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions using standard and specialized test equipment.
    • Repair or replace worn, damaged, or defective parts.
    • Request replacement parts and coordinate with the end user to ensure the system is restored to operational status.
  • Technical Support & Training:
    • Provide technical support and training to end users.
    • Share knowledge and tips with the team to improve overall service quality.
  • Service Management & Documentation:
    • Manage workload using the service management ticketing system.
    • Accurately report activities related to work orders and timecard reporting for invoicing and tracking.
  • Inventory & Vehicle Maintenance:
    • Maintain service van inventory to effectively respond to customer calls for service.
    • Keep vehicle and tools in good working order.
  • Collaboration & Compliance:
    • Collaborate with management to identify process improvement areas, improving efficiency and workflows.
    • Comply with all policies, procedures, and standards.
    • Maintain a competent understanding of CTSI services, products, and industry sectors.
  • Travel & Additional Duties:
    • Occasional travel outside of the normal work area for service projects.
    • Meet or exceed individual goals.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in security systems service, with proficiency in at least one of the following:
      • Lenel S2
      • Accutech Security
      • Brivo
      • Kantech System
    • Prefer candidates experienced with two or more of the above systems.
  • Technical Expertise:
    • Previous experience working in AV, Healthcare, Fire Alarm, or Security in a technical role.
    • Familiarity with standard electrical test equipment or specialized test equipment used with network systems, AV equipment, healthcare systems, or security equipment.
  • Skills & Characteristics:
    • Basic computer skills.
    • Strong written and verbal communication.
    • Excellent customer service orientation.
    • Demonstrated problem-solving abilities, with a proven track record of executing results.
    • Team player with the ability to collaborate effectively.
  • Licensing & Travel:
    • Valid driver's license.
    • Willingness to travel occasionally for service projects.

Education Requirements

  • Minimum: High school diploma or GED.
  • Preferred: Associate's degree and/or relevant industry certifications.
