The SEL and Project AWARE (Advancing Wellness and Resilience in Education) Liaison will develop a sustainable infrastructure for trauma informed school-based mental health practices, services, and supports. The candidate will collect and share/report necessary data at the local and state level, communicate and collaborate with the LEA Project Manager, our partner agencies, and work collaboratively with school-based personnel, as well as state and community partners.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Develop a district wide system to connect schools to services provided by our partners.
  • Coordinate SEL consultations and professional learning opportunities for schools and the district.
  • Responsible for data collection, input, compilation, and completion of quarterly and annual reports to the Project AWARE Manager.
  • Communicates and collaborate with Project AWARE and other community partners.
  • Facilitate and assist the needs of the school MTSS teams and the students they serve.
  • Maintain thorough records and assists with program evaluation.
  • Work directly with schools, students, staff, and families to promote program goals.
  • Support the work of YMHFA (Youth Mental Health First Aid) and the implementation of the YMHFA at the secondary level.
  • Attend monthly meetings of the School Health Advisory Council.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • A deep understanding of and commitment to SEL as a framework within School Improvement.
  • Comfort in addressing and working with building and district-level leadership.
  • Sensitivity to students' social, emotional, and behavioral challenges.
  • Creativity and flexibility to develop successful programs for student academic success.
  • Ability to interact with students, families, staff, and administration and effectively handle issues utilizing a problem-solving approach.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks at one time.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Capable of responding simultaneously to a variety of requests from families, staff, and administration.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Google Suites.
  • Knowledge of CASEL competencies and approaches.
  • Ability to be flexible and adapt as needed between various in-person working environments.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
The successful candidate will demonstrate the following qualifications and experience-
  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in mental health, social work, education, public health, or related field; or a minimum of 5 years of related work experience may be considered.
  • History of successful partnerships with parents, community-based organizations, principals, teachers, and other institutions and organizations.
  • Familiar with data-driven decision making.
  • Experience with successful project and grant management, performance reporting, and contracting
  • Bilingual preferred.
  • Previous experience in an urban school setting.

LICENSES/CERTIFICATION:
  • Valid RI Driver's License.

Salary: $83,104.00
