We are currently seeking a Senior Accountant - Payroll to join our accounting team in Seattle, WA.

What will YOU do?

The Senior Accountant - Payroll is responsible for overseeing payroll processing. Plan, coordinate and determine methods and procedures to be utilized in the maintenance of payroll controls, records and reports. Manages timekeeping systems, maintains payroll records, makes journal entries, general ledger analysis, tax reporting, financial audit and compliance support, financial analysis and reporting. Backup for Power Bl service management, reporting and funder's budgets.

Pay Range: $80,000 - $99,347.82 per year.

Work Schedule: Monday Through Friday, 40 hours per week.

Responsibilities:
  • Oversee payroll operations, process payroll, review timecards, update records, verify payroll accuracy, balance accounts, and resolve payroll issues.
  • Establish work procedures, determine deadlines and establish pay dates and schedules. Oversee out-of-sequence payrolls.
  • Schedule payroll processing, assign or perform automated payroll file maintenance. Maintain the integrity of the payroll system and files.
  • Ensure timely payment and reporting of various deductions to government entities. Ensure compliance with monthly, quarterly and year-end reporting requirements.
  • Review payroll and accounting practices for conformance with agency, state, and federal requirements and payroll best practices. Research and recommend changes as necessary.
  • Provide organizational financial analysis and reporting using tools such as Power Pivot and Power Bl to enable data informed decisions and support department initiatives. Provide audit and compliance support.
  • Analyze, review, and prepare federal, state, and local tax reports.
  • Manage payroll-related reconciliations on a monthly basis, including complex reconciliations for cash and benefits.
  • Backup for the management of the Power Bl service, reports and complex reporting needs of the organization.
  • Assist with managing agency credit card usage. Liaison with staff on credit card transactions, fraud issues, and other assigned financial responsibilities.
  • Review budgets including funder, project, department, and organizational, including the annual budget process.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field OR four (4) years relevant accounting experience.
  • Two (2) years' experience processing payroll.
  • Experience with payroll software such as ADP Workforce Now.
