Position Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our finance and accounting team. The Sr. AP & Expense Accountant will provide support by ensuring invoice vouchering and payments are completed and expenses are controlled by receiving vendor invoices, processing, verifying, and reconciling invoices according to established policies and procedures in an efficient, timely, and accurate matter, to support overall goals of the Finance Department and Canadian Solar MSS North America.

Key responsibilities:
  • Review and process accounts payable transactions and ensure payments are accurate, timely, and compliant for separate entities
  • Verify and match all source documents (e.g. 3-way matching), to timely post invoice into SAP. Ensure invoices are correctly coded according to cost center and account by identifying expense nature
  • Monitor AP aging to ensure payments are processed in accordance with company policy and DOA. Ensure timely process payment runs including check, wires and ACH upon approvals
  • Perform account reconciliations and ensure accounting practices are standardized
  • Communicate with vendors on invoice disputes and receiving payments of outstanding accounts. Support other departments with vendor issues, pricing, and AP documentation
  • Manage cash flow and cash management activities, optimizing liquidity for operational needs
  • Prepare bank reconciliation, intercompany reconciliation, journal entries, including debits and credits, for month-end closing processes
  • Ensure existing and new vendor setup information in SAP is maintained timely and vendor requirements are complete, including W9 and W8. Manage outsourcing vendors for timely filing of annual 1099 and 1096
  • Review expense reports process by AP by verifying supporting and follow up with counter parties until satisfied by the company T&E policy and requirements.
  • Monitor timely process of Debit Memo and/or Credit Memo for intercompany and related party cross charges. Support to prepare monthly reconciliation for AP sub-ledger to the General Ledger Control Account
  • Support internal and external audit as needed such as SOX audit compliance
  • Ensure that all business activities are performed with the highest ethical standards and in compliance with the Canadian Solar Solution Code of Business Conduct


Professional Qualifications:
  • 4+ years' experience in Accounts Payable and expenses
  • 1+ years' experience processing intercompany transactions and reconciliations
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Admin or equivalent work experience
  • Knowledge of purchasing, receiving, logistic flows are required
  • A thorough knowledge of ERP system is required, SAP S/4 HANA is preferred
  • Computer literacy, including intermediate Excel skills
  • Effective written and spoken communication skills
  • Flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment
  • Able to work efficiently as a part of a team as well as independently.

Compensation & Benefits

Canadian Solar offers a competitive salary plus fully comprehensive benefits and performance bonus package based on an annual objective achievement. Our generous benefits package includes a 401(k) Retirement Plan, medical/dental/life/disability program, PTO and sick days.

The pay range for this position is $90,000 - $115,000. This range represents annual base salary only, without regard to location, and does not include a 20% bonus that pays quarterly or other incentives or benefits that may apply. The pay range for this role is subject to change.
