Northmarq Capital is seeking a Senior Accountant to join the Finance & Accounting department who will be responsible for the timely preparation of the monthly financial statements and various other accounting and reporting functions. Responsibilities may expand in line with department goals and objectives.

Minnesota Residents: Northmarq carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate's education, training, and experience. The salary range for the Senior Accountant position is $80,000.00 to $90,000.00 annually. This range is a good faith estimate and the actual compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience.

Northmarq Capital is seeking a Senior Accountant to join the Finance & Accounting department who will be responsible for the timely preparation of the monthly financial statements and various other accounting and reporting functions. Responsibilities may expand in line with department goals and objectives.

Position Responsibilities:
- Prepare various month-end schedules and post related journal entries
- Accurately update and maintain various schedules to reconcile to the general ledger
- Assist with preparation of financial reports, including but not limited to internal monthly financial statements, internal reporting for management, annual audits and the tax preparation process
- Assist with daily cash disbursements, wires, and loan fundings, conforming with various bank agreements and company policies
- Review and approve various support schedules and reconciliations
- Perform various treasury management functions including warehouse facility projections, cash utilization, and liquidity analyses
- Assist with the preparation of tax returns and annual reports for multiple states and companies
- Assist with implementation of strategic initiatives that drive growth and operational improvements
- Assist with implementing new accounting standards and performing accounting research
- Provide back-up support to other Finance team members as needed
What We're Looking For:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
- 3+ years of relevant accounting/finance experience
- Understanding of commercial real estate and mortgage banking preferred
- Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP
- Previous experience working in Microsoft Dynamics GP and Salesforce experience helpful, not required
- High degree of computer skills including proficiency in a variety of accounting applications, Excel spreadsheets (pivot tables, various formulas, working with large amounts of data) and various other Microsoft Office products
- Strong general ledger and financial statements working knowledge
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and in a team environment
- Demonstrated organization skills with the ability to handle multiple projects and assignments; able to prioritize and meet deadlines
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to reflect level of responsibilities
- Strong attention to detail and ability to perform self-review
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to maintain sensitive and confidential information
