Summary

This position provides accurate and timely information to department management to aid in review of financial results.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Perform analytical review of P&L and Balance Sheet accounts
  • Assist with Accounting operations, which include financial accounting, accounts payable, receivables, and month end closing
  • Perform month-end activities including, but not limited to, journal entries and account reconciliations for prepaids, accruals, taxes, other assets/liabilities, un-invoiced receipts, subsidiaries and other assigned accounts
  • Monitor, research, and resolve balance sheet matters and discrepancies
  • Assist with financial reports to comply with generally accepted accounting principles or financial reporting standards
  • Support the payables process, including review of AP transactions, to ensure timely and accurate payment of invoices
  • Support customer invoicing and tracks outstanding receivables, ensuring payments are received according to agreed-upon terms
  • Oversee invoice management, including verification, approval, and reconciliation processes
  • Reconcile and manage dual customer/supplier relationships
  • Compute rebates, discounts, and other revenue related analyses
  • Assists SEC Reporting Manager with analysis of departmental expense reports and other reports as needed
  • Assist with internal controls over accounting functions to minimize risk and ensure Sarbanes-Oxley compliance
  • Assist with quarterly and annual audit requirements
  • Maintains a documented system of accounting policies and procedures
  • Complies with local, state, and federal government requirements
  • Identifies and recommends updates to accounting processes and procedures
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Other:
  • Develop and implement process improvements
  • Create, document and maintain SOPs
  • Participate in financial audits
  • Ad hoc project and other tasks and work as assigned


Qualifications
  • BS or BA degree in Accounting, Business or equivalent experience
  • Experience with mid to top tier ERP systems
  • At least three to five years of progressive previous experience in an accounting department with general ledger responsibility
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Highly accurate data analysis and excel skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs, including moderate to advanced competency with Excel, including pivot tables and vlookups
  • Must demonstrate good communication skills and be able to work well as a team member with all departments within the company
  • Excellent time management and organization skills
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality of company sensitive and proprietary information

Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop and kneel; talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to sit and stand.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust and focus.

Work Environment
