Senior Accountant

Location: Tucson and Phoenix, AZ

Job Title: Baer and ADS Senior Accountant

Reports To: Corporate Controller

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Oversees all accounting functions (including AR/AP reconciliation, financial reporting and closing, and budget preparation) and leads accounting staff for both Baer Braking and ADS Suspension
• Ensure compliance with and prepare reports according to generally accepted accounting principles
• Perform consolidations of multiple domestic and international entities in primary accounting system
• Assist in establishing and maintaining internal controls to ensure SOX compliance
• Oversee, monitor and work to improve accounting procedures and monthly closing processes
• Guide and assist other departments by clearly communicating current accounting policies and procedures as well as composing and disseminating new procedures and policies as necessary for process improvement
• Coordinate external audits
• Assist corporate controller with acquisitions and integrations activities
• Assist corporate controller with a variety of tasks as needed and handle special projects as requested by management

Job Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or business administration with a solid understanding of GAAP and applicable regulations
• At least eight years of work experience in finance or accounting
• Advanced computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Excellent organizational and time management skills

Strongly Preferred

• Public accounting experience with CPA status
• Experience in a public company, manufacturing setting
