Senior Accountant

Salary Range $95,000 - $115,000

Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Review journal entries and/or accounting transactions, reconciliations, work papers, and deliverables
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends and anomalies.
  • Provide insights and recommendations based on financial analysis
  • Review reports for completeness and accuracy.
  • Conduct discussions with clients about the results of work performed.
  • Guide and mentor junior accounting staff.
  • Oversee daily accounting operations and ensure team productivity
  • Review and approve work plans to ensure they meet project requirements.
  • Ensure assignments are carried out timely and within delivery commitments.
  • Help resolve issues that arise during project execution.


Technical Skills:
  • Accounting Knowledge: Understanding of federal accounting principles and practices and GAAP.
  • Financial Analysis: Ability to analyze financial data and prepare accurate reports.
  • Government Experience: Familiarity with government accounting standards and regulations, such as OMB Circulars, Treasury Financial Manual, and USSGL.
  • Project Management: Proficiency execution, and monitoring.
  • IT Proficiency: Competence in using accounting software and other relevant IT tools, such as Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.


Soft Skills:
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for client interactions and report writing.
  • Leadership: Ability to lead and mentor junior staff, providing guidance and support.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address issues that arise during projects.
  • Time Management: Effective time management skills to ensure timely completion of assignments.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in reviewing work papers and deliverables.


Experience:
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience, including at least 2 years of government experience.


Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Information Systems, Business, or equivalent
