BSi provides focused services within our core competencies of Engineering and Integration, Data Analytics, and Professional Services Solutions.

BreakForth Solutions is seeking a Sr. Accountant to join our team of professional results-oriented staff who will provide comprehensive financial business management support. The ideal candidate will have proven industry experience as an accountant, preferably in a senior role within a Federal Contracting environment. The Sr. Accounting Manager serves as a vital member of the internal corporate staff and works closely with the CFO, Executive Team, and Operations Teams. The Senior Accounting Manager will manage, execute, and evaluate day-to-day financial activities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Execute diverse accounting and finance duties in a Unanet accounting systems environment.
  • Process and analyze monthly customer invoices while accurately invoicing all billable costs.
  • Process monthly vendor invoices.
  • Analyze and post monthly accruals and other adjusting entries.
  • Enter new projects and modifications in Unanet.
  • Serve as lead for Time and Labor in Unanet; provide direct support to the project teams on time and labor issues, including subcontractors.
  • Prepare labor reconciliations for review and posting of labor.
  • Enter new hires and process terminations within Unanet.
  • Process payroll using ADP Workforce Now in a timely and efficient manner, including the production of health and welfare statements for Service Contract Act personnel.
  • Work directly with the CFO to develop the annual budget to maximize revenue and identify potential areas of cost savings.
  • Provide recommendations to improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, government regulations, and accounting principles.
  • Provide comprehensive accounting updates to the Executive Team.
  • Help develop and support short- and long-term operational strategies.


Education/Skills/Experience Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 7 years' experience in Accounting in a Federal Contracting environment; 12 years' experience can be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Extensive knowledge of the practices and principles of government contracts accounting budgeting, cash management, contract management, and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
  • Well-versed in FAR, CAS, and general compliance.
  • Experience with Unanet and ADP Workforce Now.
  • Be able to process semi-monthly payroll using ADP Workforce Now.
  • Progressive experience as a self-starter with the ability to effectively execute coordination activities, make independent and sound judgments and decisions, and identify gaps in existing processes and documentation.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365, including Word; Excel; PowerPoint; Outlook; Teams; SharePoint; proficient in Adobe Acrobat Professional and other relevant software.
  • Possess and demonstrate excellent and professional oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent time and priority management skills with proven experience meeting tight deadlines; ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to react to project and organizational adjustments and alterations promptly and efficiently.
  • Ability to conform to shifting priorities, demands, and timelines by implementing analytical and problem-solving capabilities to maintain multiple project schedules.
  • Able to collaborate and interact with internal and external stakeholders effectively and professionally; must be a team player, be hands-on, and take ownership of projects.
  • Exceptional customer service skills; ability to share and alleviate concerns and conflicts in a proof-positive manner and provide effective solutions, resulting in positive outcomes.
  • Exceptional analytical and listening skills; willingness to learn new concepts.
  • Must be detail-oriented and possess critical thinking, focused leadership, and time management skills.

Company-wide Accountabilities:
  • Work closely with the President and CEO, and CFO to support financial objectives.
  • Hold company and client information in strict confidence and do not communicate outside the company.
  • All work objectives must be performed in accordance with all government laws, regulations, ordinances, and court rulings in those jurisdictions in which the company operates.
  • Execute work requirements in accordance with company policies and standards inherent in all position contracts, system action plans, employee manuals, ongoing policy memoranda, and facilities.
  • Notify the President/CEO of any issues to be resolved or deadlines that cannot be met prior to the due date.
  • Bring to the attention of the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) any problems with systems so the system can be improved, repaired, or replaced.

Effectively work remotely, per an exempt, 40-hour/week schedule, Monday - Friday, with a willingness to adjust when position requirements warrant the additional time to be completed in accordance with corporate objectives and deadlines.
  • Be willing to participate in in-office meetings (Centreville, VA location), when necessary to meet corporate objectives, and to attend training, corporate meetings, and off-site meetings/gatherings.
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision in an "all-hands" environment and be a kind, collaborative team member, operating with the highest levels of integrity and honesty.
