Summary
The Senior Accountant reports to the VP of Accounting and will be responsible for the project accounting and cost reporting requirements of multiple mid-sized projects. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, overseeing general accounting operations by controlling and verifying our financial transactions. Must possess excellent analytical skills with a thorough knowledge of accounting principles to analyze financial reports and forecasts.

Essential Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; Relevant certification (e.g. CMA or CPA) preferred.
Experience: 5-7 years' experience working in a Staff Accountant or Senior Accountant role; experience in the Healthcare Industry preferred.
Knowledge/Skills/Experience:

Role & Responsibilities:
- Reports to the VP of Accounting on the cost control as well as overall project costs as they relate to budgeted amounts and their impact on project profitability
- Answers accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data
- Reviews and processes credit card expenses, including coding expenses and researching charges, T&E and Drug purchases.
- Identifies errors and suggests ways to improve efficiency and spending
- Verifies and reconciles vendor contracts
- Supports back financing initiatives and reporting
- Prepares schedules and footnotes for year-end financial statement review with external accountants
- Assists accounting team in the month end closing and financial reporting including account analysis, variance analysis
- Prepares month-end reconciliations; inventory reconciliation
- Prepares journal entries
- Examines costs to ensure agreements match with contracts, policy, etc.
- Interfaces with corporate staff in dealing with billing issues and profit recognition
- Makes recommendations based on analysis and status of reserves, assets and expenditures
- Analyzes complex financial reports and records
- Assists with financial and tax audits
- Develops and documents business processes and accounting policies to maintain internal controls
- Coordinates more complex accounting projects and initiatives with other members of the accounting and finance team or with other departments
- Ensures compliance with GAAP principles
- Directs internal and external audits to ensure compliance
- Participates in financial standards setting and in forecast process
- Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential
- Participates in special projects as assigned
Essential Qualifications:

- Advanced working experience with Concur highly preferred
- In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Advanced MS Suite, MS Excel skills including V-lookups and pivot tables
- Meticulous attention to detail
