We are looking for an exceptional Senior Accountant who will play a critical role contributing to all the daily aspects of accounting, financial statements, general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, inventory, tax compliance, and revenue recognition.

Reporting to the Controller, this position works directly with employees in multiple locations who are responsible for financial reporting, accounting, billing, collections, payroll, and banking activities. We are looking for a dynamic individual that thrives in a fast-paced environment and is interested in being part of a growing company.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Prepare monthly closing journal entries for balance sheet and income statement accounts.
  • Manage complex monthly reconciliation schedules, such as, but not limited to cash, fixed assets, prepaid expenses, and accrued liabilities ledgers, investigate discrepancies, and provide explanations.
  • Perform various analysis on specific General Ledger accounts, budget to actual reports, or reforecast to actual reports.
  • Assist in gathering and compiling the information for the annual and quarterly budget and reforecasts, respectively.
  • Collaborate with external auditors to provide information needed for the annual audit. Contribute to completion of the audit in compliance with GAAP, with additional focus on minimizing adjustments and limiting internal control comments.
  • Guide junior accountants and other staff by answering questions and providing guidance.
  • Focus on tax compliance (sales, use, personal, and motor vehicle).
  • Create a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) manual for accounting policy and regulations and roll out reconciliation procedures.
  • Play a vital part in the company's financial management which includes all account reconciliations and reporting to necessary parties.
  • Process improvement - Challenge, develop and improve processes to drive efficiency and improve performance.
  • Support high standards for the finance function and each of its processes and help to implement best practice process and systems in key accounting functions.
  • Enthusiastically take on special projects and ad hoc reporting requirements of the business


Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
  • Minimum 5 years of finance experience
  • Proficient in Excel
  • Detail oriented, motivated self-starter with strong organizational skills, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to develop and maintain business partner relationships at all levels within the organization.
  • Strong business and financial acumen with understanding that problem-solving goes beyond the numbers. Ability to think through multiple scenarios.
  • Ability to prioritize and independently manage multiple concurrent tasks in a dynamic and fast paced setting.
  • High level of energy and professionalism and strong attention to detail
  • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
  • Full-time position in office five days per week.
