Position Summary:
The Senior Accountant provides critical support to the finance department by processing, recording, updating, and reconciling financial data in compliance with established policies. This role is responsible for managing the month-end closing process, overseeing shared services functions, and ensuring accurate bookkeeping. The Senior Accountant also provides financial insights by analyzing expenditures against budgets and plays a key role in managing accounts payable, fixed assets, and tax compliance.
Additionally, this position serves as a resource for other personnel, offering guidance and instruction on financial processes. Essential Functions:
- Prepare general ledger entries and reconcile accounts.
- Perform cash functions, including daily journal entries, and generate daily/weekly cash status.
- Manage and oversee certain month-end and year-end close processes, including reconciliations and adjustments.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly financial results.
- Coordinate entries on fixed assets, transfers, depreciation, and disposal.
- Manage the accounts payable at shared service.
- Ensure compliance with sales tax filings and other regulatory tax requirements.
- Conduct ad hoc financial analysis and support additional duties as needed.
- Coordinate with regional finance managers in analyzing variances and results of operations.
- Ensure all assigned tasks are completed accurately and within established deadlines.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA certification is a plus.
Experience Requirements:
- 5-7 years of experience in a finance or accounting role.
- Experience managing month-end close processes and financial reporting.
- Prior experience in shared services and corporate accounting.
- Experience with Viewpoint Vista ERP system and Spreadsheet server is a plus.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to organize and prioritize workload effectively to meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Intermediate to Advanced), including pivot tables and XLOOKUP, etc.
- Strong attention to detail and critical thinking skills.
- Knowledge of GAAP and regulatory compliance requirements.

- Technical Accounting & Financial Proficiency: In-depth understanding of US GAAP and financial reporting.
- Month-End & Year-End Close: Ability to manage reconciliations and adjustments efficiently.
- Fixed Assets Management: Tracking, depreciation, and reporting of fixed assets.
- Accounts Payable: Processing and coding of accounts payable and applicable taxes
- Analytical Thinking: Ability to analyze variances against actual and budget.
- Collaboration: Ability to work with cross-functional teams.
- Time Management: Overseeing multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
