Job Summary
We're looking for a Senior Accountant to join our PharmScript team within our Accounting & Finance department. The ideal candidate would have a strong background in generally accepted accounting principles and financial reporting, along with excellent analytics and problem-solving skills. This role will be involved in our monthly close procedures and financial reporting. We are on a hybrid work schedule with 3 days required in office.

Job Summary
We're looking for a Senior Accountant to join our PharmScript team within our Accounting & Finance department. The ideal candidate would have a strong background in generally accepted accounting principles and financial reporting, along with excellent analytics and problem-solving skills. This role will be involved in our monthly close procedures and financial reporting. We are on a hybrid work schedule with 3 days required in office.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for maintaining general ledger accounts for areas assigned such as inventory rebate receivables to ensure accuracy and timely recording. This includes posting journal entries, communicating cross functionally internally and with third parties to update estimates and capture actuals timely, and maintaining excel schedules as support. Accounts assigned periodical change as circumstances warrant.
- As part of our month close, prepare monthly account analyses and record general ledger activity as required within our month end close deadlines for accounts such as other accrued expenses, other assets, other accounts receivables and other income.
- Perform and effectively document understanding of pharmacy P&L activity as part of monthly close P&L analytic reviews for as many as 8 locations and proactively investigate fluctuations when needed
- Ensure timely and accurate postings of various general ledger activity including revenue reporting process and lease accounting entries.
- Prepare weekly account receivable aging and collection reports.
- Prepare and record certain asset, liability, revenue, and expense entries by compiling and analyzing account reconciliations.
- Prepare and review ad-hoc excel schedules and provide other requested documentation related to areas as needed.
- Assist with the data preparation and maintenance of records related to the company's unclaimed property remittances.
- Review vendor invoices for proper accounting treatment and perform monthly revenue posting and daily cash receipt reconciliations.
- Gain an understanding of the daily operational workflow and review Accounts Payable invoices for final approval before clerical entry.
- Ability to work independently, and as part of a team, within the day to day activities of the Accounting Department.
Qualifications
- Accounting degree required
- Minimum 5 years' relevant accounting experience required including work experience in private industry.
- CPA preferred
- CPA Firm experience preferred
- Experience utilizing finance/accounting systems preferred;
- Knowledge of Great Plains accounting software is a plus.
