Reporting to the Director, Pricing and Underwriting Canada, in this high-impact role, you'll lead pricing strategy, influence key decisions, and collaborate across teams to deliver innovative, data-driven solutions. Your expertise will play a vital role in keeping us competitive and driving our continued success.
This position will follow a hybrid schedule with two in-office days per week out of our Canadian corporate head office at 700 Jamieson Parkway, Cambridge, Ontario, N3C 4N6

What you will do Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Lead the development and refinement of pricing models to align with business goals and regulatory requirements.
- Analyze market trends and recommend strategic pricing adjustments to drive profitability and competitiveness.
- Apply advanced actuarial techniques and predictive analytics to assess risk and model pricing scenarios.
- Partner with data scientists to enhance pricing accuracy through machine learning and innovative tools.
- Present pricing insights and strategic recommendations to senior leadership and key stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and proactively assess the impact of evolving frameworks.
- Mentor junior actuaries and lead cross-functional project teams to deliver high-quality results.
- Monitor portfolio performance and regularly review pricing models to maintain accuracy and effectiveness.
What you will bring/Minimum qualifications
- University Degree in Math, Statistics or Actuarial Science
- Completion of an ASA or ACAS designation or passed start/foundation exams toward an ASA or ACAS designation, with a commitment to continue writing actuarial exams to an FSA/FCIA or FCAS.
- 5+ years' experience in pricing-focused actuarial roles, ideally in insurance or reinsurance
- Advanced skill in using MS Excel, VBA, and SQL.
- Proven ability to deliver pricing strategies that drive growth and profitability
- Experience with tools like Emblem, Radar, Python, and other actuarial software
- Solid grasp of statistical and predictive modeling techniques
- Strong communicator, able to explain complex concepts to non-technical audiences
- Fluent in English with ability to communicate clearly and effectively with Sr. Leaders
- Experienced leader with a track record of mentoring junior team members
- Strategic thinker with sharp analytical and problem-solving skills
Preferred qualifications
- Experience with pricing in a travel line of business
- Familiarity with emerging technologies and their application in pricing (e.g., AI, machine learning).
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and changing environment.
