Description:

We are looking for an outstanding Financial Planning & Analysis Senior Analyst to join our Corporate FP&A team in New York. This role will provide FP&A support to Spotify's G&A teams (HR, IT, and Global Workplace Services), as well as participate in various Corporate FP&A activities.

The ideal candidate should have strong financial budgeting and forecasting skills, excellent attention to detail, and be able to prioritize effectively in a fast-paced, high growth environment. Through quantitative analysis and strategic thinking, you will play a critical role in supporting decision-making within Spotify's workplace strategy as well as the company's overall business planning and forecasting process.

Accompanying this broad set of responsibilities is exposure to multiple areas of the business, and multiple tiers of senior management throughout the company. This is a truly global role providing exposure and growth across multiple legal jurisdictions and environments.

What You'll Do
    • Act as a business partner with senior G&A leadership to support financial and operating needs
    • Assist G&A leaders in building annual budgets, as well as supporting ongoing operational execution of plans via monthly variance analysis and reforecasting
    • Own and distribute monthly and quarterly management reporting for G&A leadership - analyzing financial results, identifying key trends, assessing current and future business risk, and communicating key insights
    • Support the month-end close process for G&A functions: review accruals, update OPEX models with Actuals and conduct variance analysis
    • Identify and implement improvements to make financial and operational reporting better, faster and easier
    • Partner with leadership of our Global Workplace, Real Estate and IT teams to facilitate monthly cost forecasting and the quarterly budgeting process for each project build. Projects include office builds, studios, and renovations
    • Perform ad hoc analyses and projects from various stakeholders, such as evaluation of business proposals, negotiating vendor agreements and other operational tasks
    • Work closely with local global workplace operations teams to ensure market level optimization of operating expenses
    • Partner across other finance teams to drive continuous improvement in financial and operational performance
    • Maintain short-term and long-term headcount planning in the context of future real estate requirements

Who You Are
    • 4+ years work experience in a relevant field, with emphasis in accounting or corporate finance, budgeting and planning
    • Strong knowledge of financial reporting and accounting, including experience with income statement, balance sheet and cash flow statement. IFRS 16 knowledge is a plus
    • Strong business insights, with the ability to drive projects from start to finish. We're looking for someone who is not afraid of detail and granularity
    • Experience distilling complex systems and frameworks into well-synthesized narratives and recommendations for diverse audiences
    • Advanced MS Excel/Google Sheets skills with a deep understanding of model architecture, formula efficiency, and pivot tables
    • Experience working in dashboards (Tableau, Looker, etc.)
    • Baseline understanding of SQL
    • You excel at building relationships with multiple functions and regions, across all levels of the organization
    • You have strong communication and presentation skills, with an ability to explain complex topics in simple terms to a variety of audiences
    • Ability to stay proactive, organized, and dynamic in a rapidly changing environment; here are various high priority workstreams ongoing at once and balance and organization will help you succeed in this role
    • Self-starter who is intellectually curious and not afraid to seek out projects independently
    • You are passionate about both technology and audio
